written 9.15.09 Can Wealth create happiness? No. Wealth is something temporary. It gives fleeting happiness. We may be excited when we get something new, but everything will pass with time. Wealth moves with time; we may have it now, but it never lasts. True happiness is found in the people around you, your loved ones. Why did everybody hate Ebeneezer Scrooge? Because he was stingy and cared only for his money. And so people avoided him. And then when his money was gone, what did he have? Nothing. Only in our loved ones can we have lasting happiness.
