Christmas Spirit

Christmas is closing in all! We're getting closer everyday! And I haven't even attempted to find something for my fam. yet! I can't believe it! But this is my chance to share some important thought. We celebrate Christmas every year so commercially. I dislike it SO much. We forget the true origins Christmas. What is the first part of the word, Christmas? CHRIST. Some people say that the true meaning of Christmas is love and being with those you care about, as well as giving and good-will towards men. This IS true, and it IS important, but it is not the true meaning of Christmas. Little children only care about Santa and the presents they get nowadays. Not that I'm a Santa-hater, I still love movies like "The Polar Express," but we all know the truth about Santa Claus. No, the true meaning of Christmas is The Birth of Christ. I know I'm getting kinda religious here, but it's the truth! Hundreds of years ago, on December twenty-fifth, The Emperor of Rome declared that day the nationally recognized holiday to celebrate the birth of Christ. The Savior. (Even though he was actually born in April, but that's beside the point.) The Point is, that Christmas is about thanking Heavenly Father that he gave us the opportunity to have salvation, through Christ. Celebrating the birth of the Son of God; who loves us unconditionally and gave up his throne in heaven to be a teacher, a healer, and a Savior. The greatest example. Thanks to him, we can all repent, live as best as we can, and reach heaven. And for most people, learn the true plan of salvation in heaven. But now, we are focusing on how we need to change how Christmas has changed into a commercial holiday. Let's all realize these changes and how they can be need to be reverted to how it used to be! Let's go back and believe in one of my favorite local musicals, "The Forgotten Carols." Let's remember those carols and bring back the TRUE spirit of Christmas. (Let's not talk about how the government is considering changing "Christmas" to the "Winter Festival." and how they're considering taking "In God We Trust" off of our money. That's a completely different subject.)
